ACCREDITATION  2009

Serenity Lane achieved outstanding accreditation from The Joint Commission and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Serenity Lane is among four percent of behavioral health facilities in the nation who earn dual accreditation.

In late May 2009, The Joint Commission made an unannounced visit to Serenity Lane's detox, residential and outpatient programs. Serenity Lane received The Joint Commission's maximum 39 month accreditation. The Joint Commission accreditation is considered the healthcare industry's Gold Seal of Approval. Serenity Lane also met all of The Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals for 2009.

CARF surveyors visited in April 2009, awarding the organization a three-year accreditation and bestowing eight "Best Practices" instead of the more typical one or two. CARF examined the detox, residential, therapeutic community and outpatient programs.

The awards and dual accreditation are part of Serenity Lane's commitment to continuous quality improvement.

The Joint Commission:

The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization, governed by a board that includes physicians, nurses and consumers. The Joint Commission sets the standards by which health care quality is measured in America and around the world. Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission is dedicated to continuously improving the safety and quality of the nation's health care through voluntary accreditation.

The Joint commission evaluates the quality and safety of care for more than 15,000 health organizations. To maintain and earn accreditation, organizations must have an extensive on-site review by the team of Joint Commission health care professionals, at least once every three years. The purpose of the review is to evaluate the organizations performance in ares that affect patients care.

Today, The Joint Commission accredits nearly 1,650 behavioral health care organizations.

Serenity Lane has been accredited by The Joint Commission since 1980.

CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities):

CARF-accredited service providers enjoy recognition among an international community of consumers and programs.

CARF-accredited programs ensure the highest industry standards possible, providing risk reduction and accountability.

CARF accreditation means the provider has passed an in-depth review of its services. It provides assurance that the health care facility meets rigorous CARF guidelines for service and quality – qualified endorsement that the provider conforms to nationally and internationally recognized service standards and that the focus is on delivering that most favorable results for their patients.

CARF accreditation means you can be confident that an organization had made a commitment to continually enhance the quality of its services and programs and its focus on patient satisfaction.
