The Facility & Costs

Serenity Lane's ExSL Program is located in Eugene, Oregon near the University of Oregon campus. Apartments, on the Serenity Lane campus, house the program's clientele. Four patients per unit live in a community environment where dignity and recovery can thrive. A community room is centrally located so the after program hours can be spent in leisure pursuits and camaraderie. Laundry facilities are provided at no charge. Patients are responsible for keeping their living quarters clean, reflecting the orderliness and dignity required in recovery. Regular daily inspections ensure that these standards and behaviors are honored. Nutritious meals are prepared on-site which help provide physical rehabilitation from the ravages of the disease. A complete exercise facility two blocks away provides everything needed for full physical recovery to occur.

ExSL requires a fee of $6,495 per 30 day period, with a 60 day recommended minimum stay. If not transferring from another Serenity Lane program we require 3-5 days of hospital observation/evaluation. Partial financing may be available for the ExSL program.  Funds must be paid in advance and are non refundable. This policy reflects the necessity of patient commitment to the program and exceptions are not made. Under most circumstances, insurance will not be billed. The current health care environment prohibits payment by third party payers for anything but the most minimal care. ExSL is not minimum care, it's maximum care. We believe that only a program of this type and duration can help those who have been unsuccessful in traditional treatment settings. Financial arrangements must be made prior to entry into ExSL, and the first month's fees must be paid. Fees include all food, lodging and group counseling. On site physician charges, medications and psychiatric services are extra and must be paid in advance of services being delivered. We offer the ExSL program at a low cost due to reduced overhead.
